Plastic-Eating Bacteria, Enzyme Found Accidentally. Plastic Can Be Recycle By This Enzyme.
To destroy or recycle plastic is a big problem for our pollution problem. But to rescue from the plastic pollution from our earth a new enzyme bacteria has been found by the scientist. The mostly plastic that we use in daily life can be eaten by this enzyme.
The researchers in the US and UK from Nation Renewable Energy Laboratory has been found the new discovery to recycle plastic. The plastic we use one million around the world in every minute.
The new discovery can recycle the plastic bottle. Now we are able to recycle around 10% of the total plastic that we are using.
World’s most popular plastic polyethylene terephthalate ( PET ) now can be broken down by this enzyme bacteria.
Before some days in the year, 2016 Japanese scientist found the bacteria when shifting the plastic waste and this bacteria can be eating PET (polyethylene terephthalate ). But the researchers from Nation Renewable Energy Laboratory from US and UK got the bacteria and experiment on it. They accidentally create the mutant enzyme that was more efficient for eating or breaking down the plastic.
In April 2018 the researchers of the bacteria produced the enzyme from that bacteria and they also map the structure of that enzyme. Also they able to make the whole process even faster. They also declared that they will continue this evolution to make it better in the coming future.
We may think that when we put the plastic bottle in the recycle bin and the bottle will recycle to come to us so we could reuse it. But we will know the fact that the bottle may rarely recycled to reuse.
Now we can hope that the enzyme can turn the plastic into its original shape. For which we can reuse it. From petroleum oil the plastic is producing, by the enzyme, it will help to get less oil from the earth.
The bacteria initially found at the Japanese recycling plant and the enzyme from the bacteria eat plastic. The Working of that enzyme and the structure was published by the researchers. This was hopeless to produce the enzyme to eat faster plastics. All these details were published at the PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Science ).
All this work is now at an early stage. Researchers have to even work harder to make the enzyme improve for work in the faster way. For now, the enzyme is not ready to use it for industrial purposes. So researchers also have to make the enzyme to use it even in industries so normal people can use the enzyme to recycle plastic.
Also, we have to take steps to lower down the uses of plastics. As the population is increasing day by day and also plastic users are increasing day by day. if from now we will not take the right steps to reduce the use of plastics from reports it was shown that there will be more plastic in an ocean that fish in the year 2050.
A single person has to take strong steps to reduce uses of plastics.
